I'm interested in your William Wilson and ? Cummins gggg-grandparents. I'm looking for a possible Wilson connection between Mary E. Wilson Meriwether and a Frank Wilson that married Elizabeth Cummins/Cummings. Mary E. Wilson, born about 1844 in Monroe County Kentucky, was the daughter of Henry Hervey Wilson, born 1821 in Cumberland County, and Lucy Davis, born 1823 in Smith County Tennessee. She was the granddaughter of Col James Wilson, born 1781 in Pennsylvania, and Rebecca Hamilton, born 1791 in Barren County Kentucky. James and Rebecca lived in Monroe County and later Fulton County. Mary married William Hyatt Meriwether and moved to Louisville Kentucky. I read that their son, Henry Hyatt Meriwether married 1909 to Maude M. Wilson, born 1886 in Grayson County, daughter of Frank and Elizabeth Cummins Wilson. What I'd like to know is if this Frank Wilson was descended from William Wilson, and were they descended from the Wilson's of Caskerdo, Fife, Scotland who are thought to have been related to Col James Wilson's family? It seems logical that with the names Wilson and Cummins in both families, there may be a connection. Other names connected to the James Wilson family were Pennebaker and Boone, who may also have lived in Grayson County after leaving Nelson/Bullit County. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
