The Breckinridge, KY census of 1850 shows James Collins and wife Mary. Her name appears to me to be spelled Meary. Her age is shown as 22. Immediately above in the household of a name I read as Jules Pulliam are listed a Meary A. La Grande 22, and a Nancy La Grande. To further confuse this, the entry above that is a listing for a name I believe could be read as Isaac LGrand 33. In any case it would seem that these Le Grands are related. Like in your case this has been a dead end and I have learned no more. I show that James Collis and Mary (LeGrand) Collins had a daughter, Lucy b. 1864 who married Peter Crowder. Peter Crowder was my GGGrandfather. As a small boy I remember Peter Crowder at family get-to-gathers at a farm outside of Litchfield, KY. Also, A Nancy S. LeGrand was Peter Crowder's mother. What is your connection?
