"Their neighbor is 15-year-old Sarah Crowder, daughter of James Crowder, 48, and his wife Nancy Crowder, 47. Sarah Crowder will marry William Thompson Bales, the son of Isiah Bales and Sarah Goins Bales Jackson."
James Crowder and Nancy S. (LeGrand) Crowder are my gggrandparents. The community, the ages of the two and their daughter, Sarah, check out for 1880, except I show Nancy as being born in 1931 which would have made her about 48. Was my gggrandmother fudging a year or two on her age, or are my records wrong? I have no record of Sarah marrying. Where did you get this?
My need is to find out where James Crowder was born and who his parents were. Can you help me?
I have a lot of information on Nancy S. (LeGrand) Crowder's family and also the rest of their children and decendants to modern times.
In an earlier census, Nancy S. Legrand lived next to a Mary LeGrand who was about 4 years older. I believe this Mary LeGrand married James Collins. They are also ancestors of mine and while I suspect Mary and Nancy were related, I know nothing more about either Mary LeGrand or James Collins. I hope you can help me on this, also.
Thanks, Jim Crowder
