Connie, I just saw your message. My husband's mother waa a daughter of Walter Pittman and Ruby House. She was born in 1912, but was sent to an orphans home when she was 2 years old. Walter H. Pittman was the youngest son of Joel Pittman and Francis Mullins.
The story that we have learned from a cousin(now deceased) was that Joel and Francis died and Aunt Polly Allison took the children to raise. I wonder if the Francis that was taken in by Aunt Polly Allison was a sister or niece of Aunt Polly.
