The shootings in Garrard in 1852 is connected to the Hill-Evans feud. There has been a lot of discussion about this feud on the Garrard Co. board. I do have one question for you, do you know if the Marion Co. newspaper was publishing Oct 1862 during the Perryville campaign? Rose Berry and I are still researching the feud and looking for any articles we can find. Dr. Hezekiah Evans, main participant, was shot and killed Oct 9, 1862. It was put about that he was killed by soldiers retreating from the Battle of Perryville but we think, in reality, someone took advantage of the confusion and shot him.

Another man (Ab Pollard) closely connected to the feud was killed 1865 by Green Slaughter and we are looking for any newspaper accounts of that.

The Joseph Murphy listed in the 1852 accounts is from Garrard Co.
