So sorry I missed seeing this message for so long. Thanks for your response to my query.

What I was searching for was a link between Bradford Smith's family and mine. But I have since learned that my Smiths were in Owen County, although my 2nd great-grandfather Joshua T. Smith did marry Rhoda Ellen (Baldwin) Sparks in Warsaw in 1851. They were married by Benjamin Tiller of Church of Jesus Christ in Warsaw, as was Bradford Smith.

Although I finally found Joshua's siblings and mother, I still have no clue who his father was.

Do you have information about Bradford's stepfather Smith?
I can give you names from one generation of my Smiths of Owen County:

Mr. Smith b. prob before 1800, in VA or KY; died abt 1839 (since 3 of his young sons were bound out that year, and his wife is head-of-house in 1840 in Owen County).

Agnes (maiden name unknown) Smith, b. ca 1800 VA, d. 1859-1861 Owen Co KY. There is an Agnes Smith who died 1859 in Owen Co, but she is said to be about 20 years older than my Agnes. She may be the Agnes Smith of about the right age, who was a head-of-house in Henry Co 1840.

children (born 1820-1840):
Mary Ann (Polly) Smith m. Thomas Dempsey
Susan C. Smith m. James Schooler
Elinor Malinda Smith m. Mr. Reasor/Reastor/Rasor?
George W. Smith m. Milly Ann Margaret Hammon
Joshua T. Smith m. Rhoda Ellen (Baldwin) Sparks
James R. Smith (nfi)
Alfred B. Smith (nfi)
Margaret (possibly)
Nancy Jane (possibly)
John W. Smith m. Elizabeth Hardin
Elizabeth E. Smith m. Nathaniel (Nat) Hardin

It's probably wishful thinking that you would have information about this family, but sure would appreciate it if you did.

Thanks very much.
Judy Davison
