Hello...

William Eaglin, who married Louisa (Grimes) was my Gr Gr Gr Grandfather...he did die sometime around Nov Dec 1879, as for hanging himself in the barn, I have never been able to prove it, but in the court records of Gallatin County, KY I did find that William and Louisa had become Paupers after all the children had left because of William...Louisa stayed with him and they were being cared for by a court appointed person..

Then Gallatin County built their Poor House and all the different people were told to report to the poor house...well William's name was not on the list, but if you look at the 1880 census you will find that Louisa as gone to live with one of her children...she eventually moved to Indiana and lived with another daughter, whose husband had died...

There is one reason I believe that William might have actually hung himself in the barn...my own grandfather, his grandson, got himself into trouble and was confined to an old folks home and he hung himself out in a storage shed at the facility....grandpa must have known what his grandpa did and chose the same way out... Linda Kuhnau...Oregon
