Don, Thank you sooo very much for this information! It really does help. I don't know if you live in the Fulton Co. area, but I was wondering if you have any idea where Fulton Station or Lodgeton/Lodgetown?? was in relation to Weakley Co., or Obion Co., TN? I'm trying to track the family of Adam FINCH. He was the brother of James H. FINCH in my previous message. I can't find Adam at all in the 1860 census, but he served in the Civil War (7th TN Cavalry, Union) and died at Andersonville prison in 1864. His wife and 3 sons, Benjamin, George, and Adam (Jr.), as well as Adam's mother, moved to Fulton Co. KY by the 1870 Fulton Co. KY Census and were there in the 1880 Fulton Co. KY Census. In 1872, Adam's widow, Elizabeth, married William Henry (or L. or S. (I've seen all three in census.) HICKS in Fulton Co., KY but was a widow again, I assume by 1880 since she again appeared as head of household and listed as widowed. In 1870, Elizabeth and family were in Fulton Station and in 1880 in Lodgetown or Lodgeton (I'm not sure of the spelling.) Here's the census: 1870 Fulton Co. KY Census, Dist. 5, Fulton Station FINCH, E.P. 30 TN [Elizabeth P. WARREN FINCH HICKS] Benjamin 13 TN George 11 TN Adam 6 TN E. P. 66 TN [Elizabeth P. HILL FINCH OWEN, Adam's mother] 1880 Fulton Co. KY Census, Lodgetown/Lodgeton? p. 311a HICKS, Elizabeth widowed 43 TN __ TN HICKS, Lou Sdau. 16 KY KY KY FINCH, George Son 19 TN TN TN Adam Son 16 TN TN TN OWENS, Elizabeth Mother-in-law Divorced 79 TN __ __ ZACHRY, Ada Sgdau 15 KY KY KY Thanks again for your help.
