Pyle-Piles-Pile family

I am descended from Joel C. Pyle who appears on 1850 census for Carroll county, MO. He states he was born in NC and I have traced him to KY in 1830, Dearborn, IN in 1840 (where he married Mary Ann Livingston) and then to MO. He must have died before 1860 because Mary Ann married their neighbor Richard Woodward and appears on the 1870 census for Nemaha, NE with him.

I suspect that Joel was descended from the Tories in NC. I found a copy of NC records for John, Samuel, and William Pyle under the company of Col. John Hunt dated 24 APR 1781. I also have a copy of a will for James Pyle which mentions William Pyle for Orange county, NC. I am looking for the will of William which mentions Joel as Joel Piles.

I also have a microfilmed copy of the Pyle-Pile book if anyone needs a lookup.
