Hi Brian! I hope my info will help you. Sam Hale is my g-g-grandfather. His son, BB (Benjamin) moved his family to MO and sometime later BB's sister moved there also because there was something about her husband accidentally killed a man. I believe they took on the Hale name there. Then the Hale's traded "even up" with a family in Cody NE. They swapped houses, livestock, everything.

Sam's parents were John Hale and Lovina Stone. John was killed while tending his crops in 1863. Lovina's grandfather, Cuthbert Stone was wounded in the Revolutionary War from what I have been told. Haven't found the hard evidencd of it myself yet. I would be happy to help you in any way I can. Goodn Luck.
