My father stated that his g grandfather (my gg grandfather), John Hale married Sarah Fawbush (born 1822 in Sullivan County, TN). I have seen some researcher that have my gg grandfather being born in Wythe County about 1815. But, upon searching the family tress at ancestry.com, I found a John Hale that was born 1818 in Floyd County, KY. This John Hale’s father is shown as Benjamin Hale (born 1768 in Franklin County, VA or Franklin COunty, KY) and his mother was Mary Hollingsworth. My gg grandfather is shown in the 1860 census for Magoffin County, KY. I discovered today that Magoffin County was formed from Floyd, Johnson, and Morgan Counties and officially created on 22 Feb 1860.
So I think that my gg grandfather may have been born in Floyd County, KY not Wythe County, VA as some researchers have thought. If that’s true then I have three marriages for that John Hale, a marriage to Sarah Fawbush, Tabitha Mainard, Lovina Stone (Viney Stone).
Can anyone help me in finding who the John Hale is in the 1860 Census in Magoffin County, KY? Is it really the John Hale born in 1818 in Floyd County, KY. Also does anyone know who the children were for each wife of John Hale?
