My Uncle Leroy Igo, descendant of Thomas Igo who served as a Confederate in the Civil War and is buried at Leatherwood, said his Igo family lived in Tar Flat which was in Rowan Co., KY. I just posted a message asking if anyone in Rowan Co. KY knew where Tar Flat was/is and about the history or of any (according to Uncle Lee b. 1904) photos of the area. If you discover that it was in Fleming Co., KY, please post this as I would like to know its location, too. Another community that my Igo family lived in was Fairfax in Fleming Co, KY, but I have no idea where that was either. Supposedly there was a school there since that was another location where the Igo children supposedly attended school. Since Grandpa Johnson Igo worked in timbering I guess they moved a lot.
