Sean, did any of the families you mentioned free slaves shortly before departing Fleming County? Lore in the Hood family has it that they were "run out of Ky for freeing slaves". One Hood family went to Missouri and another (my ancestors) to Rush County,IN. Both families had freed slaves before their departure.
