Hello Charles,

Have noticed your postings and good research over the years. My Lewman line is through the Saunderses of Fleming Co., KY (sons of George Saunders (b.1784 d. ca 1862 Fleming Co.,KY) married Lewmans and Mary Ann Harrison who married Noah Lewman, son of Caleb Lewman.

I have not been able to find out the parents of George Saunders. Mary Ann Harrison was a dau of Thomas Harrison who died in Fleming County 1825 (probate Fleming Co, 1829); the spouse and parents of Thomas Harrison remain a mystery to me also.

A third 'brick wall' has been the relationship between Caleb Lewman and Reason Luman. Henry C. Peden, Jr,, writing in 'More Marylanders to Kentucky 1778-1828' (Westminister, MD: Heritage Books, 2006) states that Samuel Luman, son of Reason Luman, of Irish descent, was born in 1785 and came to America with his parents when he was a boy. He lived in Maryland and moved to Lewis County, KY about 1810.

Do you know if their is a family link between Caleb & Samuel Luman?

Any thoughs most appreciated,

Willard Saunders
