Barb Terhune here...some of you know me...some of you don't.
I've been contacted by a lady seeking to unscramble the Terhunes of Fleming, Mason and Bath Counties, KY. Her primary challenge is to identify the parents of:
Isaac Terhune, born circa 1813 with a wife named Frances and a son, Stephen born May 1845 in Fleming Co., KY. Isaac, a carpenter, and his family are found in the 1850,
1860 and 1870 censuses in Fleming Co., KY.
Isaac's son, Stephen was born in May 1845 and died 09 Feb 1921 (death certificate)
His wife is identified as Isabelle or Lucy Emmons.
It seems probable that said Isaac, father of Stephen, is a grandson of Albert Terhune (1733-c1816) and his wife Maria Selovar, who were married in New Jersey and migrated to KY before 1810. Albert and Maria had at least NINE known sons - so it is a rather daunting challenge to determine which of those nine might have sired Isaac Terhune.

we have the following children for Albert Terhune & Maria Selover; the first 9 children were baptized at the Six Mile Run DRC in Somerset Co., NJ (as published in the Somerset Co. Historical Quarterly), and the last 2 (twins) were baptized at New Hackensack DRC in Dutchess County, NY.

2. Daniel, bpt 4 Mar 1759; Terhunen, Albert and Marya--Daniel. [m. Anne Williamson]
3. Abraham, bpt 2 Aug 1761; Terhunen, Albert and Maria--Abraham. [m. Martha Williamson]
4. Lena, bpt 30 Jul 1763; Tarhune, Albrt and Mryya--Lena. [m. Wm. Williamson]
5. Albert, bpt 6 Oct 1765; Terhunen, Albert and Marya--Albert. [m. Nancy Carter]
6. Elizabeth, bpt 20 Dec 1767; Terhune, Albert and Maria--Elizabeth.
7. Gerret, bpt 14 Jan 1770; Terhune, Albert and Maria--Gerret. [m. Eliz. ?]
8. Isaac, bpt 19 Apr 1772; Terhunen, Albert and Marya--Isaac. [m. Rachel ?]
9. Jacob, bpt 14 Aug 1774; Terhunen, Albert and Marya--Jacob.
10 & 11. Lucas & Barent (twins) #566;
Birth Date: 15 Mar 1780; Bapt. Date: 20 May 1780; Parents: Albert ter Heun / Maria Salover

We would be enormously grateful for documented information related to the children and grandchildren of Albert and Maria (Selovar) Terhune.
