I am trying to find the grave of Daniel Carpenter born about 1790 in ? maybe Virginia to Richard Carpenter of Fleming or Mason county Ky. Daniel was married to Nancy Mildred Carter in May of 1810, Daniel died in May of 1850 and left his farm to his wife Mildred Carpenter to live on until her death, and at her death to be split in half to his son Harvey Carpenter and the other half to Nancy Carpenter his daughter. He also gives to his daughter Sally a 100 acre farm known as part of " THE FILTON" ? the writing on the will was to hard to read and I could not make out the word after FILTON , none the less, Daniel left the 100 acres to Sally, it said that James Berry now lives on that land, I believe this 100 acres was in maybe Lewis County. In a Equity hearing filed against Daniel by Mildred she states he had left her and the kids, and with 500 dollars bought a tract of land of 150 acres, part in Fleming and Part in Lewis, and he took with him at that time,1 bed, and then in the winter he took with him, one wagon, 4 horses and gear, 9 head of cattle, about 20 sheep,40 or 50 hogs, plough's, and all farming utensil's . I am wondering if he may have been buried on his 150 care farm. In another Equity hearing filed by Clara T Hartly,John F Hartly and America Berry against-Clara Carpenter, Daniel Carpenter and Martha Carpenter and Robert Carpenter concerning a tract of land left by Daniel Carpenter to his daughter Sally Carpenter located in the North Fork of Lewis County Ky. They state that Sally Carpenter married Samule Berry and at the death of Samuel Sally sold the farm and purchased a tract of land of 53 acres. I guess, the hearing was for the sale of this 53 acres to split the monies between them all. I know that Harvey Carpenter son of Daniel Carpenter is buried with his wife Louisa Marion Dillon at the Miller Cemetry located on RT 989 in Foxport KY . I wonder if Daniel could be buried there, It is a toss up where he may be buried at, I don't know wher his wife Nancy Mildred Carter is buried either. If anyone living in Fleming related to this family could do some snoping, It would benefit us all who connect to this Carpenter family. I do also have the Last Will and Testament of Harvey Carpenter and a drawing of the farm he split up between his kids and wife, this was given to me by Terry Carpenter, who has done an extensive research on this family. I look forward in hearing from anyone connected to this line. Thanks for your time,Bye 4 now.
Jerry
