This sounds like Masterson Station to me. My gr gr gr grandfather founded it c1780 5 miles NW of Lexington, KY.
It was on what is now Spurr Pike. The US gov't took the land when they built the US Narcotic Hospital there. After they tore down Richard Masterson's house, they decided they didn't need that part of there land so gave it to the city of Lexington. It is now Masterson Station Park. I have been trying to find all of the families that lived there. I know Gilbert Simpson, Thomas Shore, George Taylor and ? Morin were there. Richard mar Sarah Shore in 1784 and lived there until he built a new house in what is now Carrollton in 1792. This new house is now on the National Historic Register. It is owned by the Carroll Co. Historical Society. Until her death a couple of years ago, my mother's second cousin had the deed for 10,000 acres on Little Elkhorn River made out to Richard Masterson and George Taylor. Would appreciate anything else you could add. Ginny Schilt email@example.com
