Included are entertainers, artists, politicians, scholars, humanitarians, journalists and athletes, literary figures, explorers & soldiers. Also included are some notable friends of mine. The core of this database was compiled between 1992-97 using sources at the Genealogy Annex of the Sonoma County (Calif.) Library (i.e. HeritageQuest). Please note, I am no longer able to answer emails save for those from a handful of fellow researchers; my apologies to the rest.

1. Mordecai Cooke was born 1680, and died 1715. He married Elizabeth Buckner, daughter of Richard Buckner and Elizabeth Cooke. She was born 1690, and died 1770.
Children of Mordecai Cooke and Elizabeth Buckner are:+ 2 i. Jemima Cooke was born 1707, and died 1796.
+ 3 ii. Elizabeth Cooke was born 1712.

2. Jemima Cooke (Mordecai Cooke1) was born 1707, and died 1796. She married Thomas Chilton. He was born 1699, and died 1775.

+ 5 ii. John Chilton was born 1739 in Westmoreland County, Virginia, USA, and died 11 SEP 1777 in Brandywine, Pennsylvania, USA.
3. Elizabeth Cooke (Mordecai Cooke1) was born 1712. She married William Pickett. He was born 1700.
Children of Elizabeth Cooke and William Pickett are:+ 6 i. Martin Pickett was born 1736, and died 1804.

5. John Chilton (Jemima Cooke2, Mordecai Cooke1) was born 1739 in Westmoreland County, Virginia, USA, and died 11 SEP 1777 in Brandywine, Pennsylvania, USA. He married Letitia Blackwell, daughter of Joseph Blackwell and Lucy Steptoe. She was born 1750, and died 1775.
Child of John Chilton and Letitia Blackwell is:+ 9 i. George Chilton was born 1772, and died 1852.
6. Martin Pickett (Elizabeth Cooke2, Mordecai Cooke1) was born 1736, and died 1804. He married Ann Blackwell, daughter of Joseph Blackwell and Lucy Steptoe. She was born 1747.
Child of Martin Pickett and Ann Blackwell is:+ 10 i. Mildred Pickett was born 1777, and died 1805.
7. Reuben Pickett (Elizabeth Cooke2, Mordecai Cooke1) was born 1752, and died 1823. He married Elizabeth Day.

9. George Chilton (John Chilton3, Jemima Cooke2, Mordecai Cooke1) was born 1772, and died 1852. He married Mary Ellen Ball, daughter of John Ball and Sarah Ellen Payne. She was born 1770, and died 1855.

10. Mildred Pickett (Martin Pickett3, Elizabeth Cooke2, Mordecai Cooke1) was born 1777, and died 1805. She married William Clarkson, son of Henry Clarkson and Dorcas Turner. He was born 1773, and died 1818.

11. Martha Pickett (Reuben Pickett3, Elizabeth Cooke2, Mordecai Cooke1). She married Allen Halliburton, son of John Halliburton and Martha Tinsley. He died 1840.

13. John Chilton (George Chilton4, John Chilton3, Jemima Cooke2, Mordecai Cooke1) was born 1792. He married Helen Stewart. She was born 1792.
Child of John Chilton and Helen Stewart is:+ 17 i. Mary Ann Chilton.
14. Elizabeth Letitia Steptoe Clarkson (Mildred Pickett4, Martin Pickett3, Elizabeth Cooke2, Mordecai Cooke1) was born 1798, and died 1868. She married Jaquelin Ambler Marshall, son of John Marshall and Mary Willis Ambler. He was born 1787, and died 1852.
