I realize this subject has been discussed on this forum, but need a clalification. I have found my gr-gr-gr grandmother was in the "Insane Asylum" in Lexington in 1850---(thru census record), I assume that these records are now in the Archives in Frankfort, Ky. I emailed the Archives, but my message bounced as the mailbox was full. So I plan to contact via snail mail. However, does anyone know what I need to do to get access to these records? In addition to adding to my family history info, I do have practical reasons to get this info--there is a history of depression and suicide in this family. Information re this poor lady has not been passed down in the family---tho there was one hint in an old letter. Anyway, I feel I have good reason to get this information more than pure nosiness---so anyway, can anyone tell me what action I need to take?
Thank you. Marti
