Matthew Keene Withers was born in VA about 1772, married Catherine Spencer in 1794 and came to Kentucky about 1806. He is listed in the Fayette Co census records for 1810 and 1820. In 1810 with a family of 11 and in 1820 with a family of 13. In the 1830's, with the family mostly grown, he relocated to Morgan and Brown Cos., IL. Two of his children were Quintin and Somerville. Others were possibly James, Alexander, Thornton, Catherine and/or Mary. Seeking any information that would help identify the children and whether Matthew remained married to Catherine Spencer.
