Wagers land

I am trying to find out about the land that belonged to Frank Wagers. My G Grandfather was Albert Curtis Wagers who was married to Nannie Green Wilson. He died in 1884 after 7 years of marriage leaving behind 4 children of which my granfather was the only male child.
Nannie married Albert's brother Ambrose Marshall Wagers in 1886 and he died in 1888 leaving one son.
Nannie married Abraham Kelly in 1891 and they had no children.

Our family has always been told that the land should have come to the children of Albert Curtis Wagers or divided equally among all the known children. Could someone help me. I now live in Georgia and no longer able to travel and investigate.
If someone knew the law at that time and how things would have worked I would appreciate it. The land remains in the Wagers family but the wrong Wagers family. Thanks so much for any help
