In the following deed you will see a John Miller boundary. I am most interested in which JOhn Miller this was????

I believe he was the John Miller who married Jane Hickerson,
and they the parents of Thomas who married Patience West.

Thomas and Patience were founding members of the Union City Baptist Church in 1812.

This Indenture made this twenty fifth day of August Anno Domi One Thousand Seven Hundred & eighty eight Between William Hoy and Sarah his wife of the County of Madison & Commonwealth of Virginia of the One part and David Crews of the aforesaid County & Commonwealth of the other part Witnesseth that the aforesaid William Hoy & Sarah his wife, for and Inconsideration of the sum of Four Hundred pounds Current money of Virginia to us in hand paid, the Receipt where of we do hereby Acknowledge hath granted Bargained and Sold, and by these presents do Grant Bargain & sell unto the said David Crews his heirs & assigns forever a Certain Tract or Parcel of Land Containing four Hundred Acres being the same more or less Situate Lying and being in the county of Madison and on the Waters of Auter [Otter] Creek it being part of a Settlement & preemption of William Hoyís and Bounded as followeth to wit Beginning at two Hickories Standing near the trace from Irvineís to Estillís Station, thence North twenty east two Hundred & Nineteen poles to a Hickory & Sugar tree corner to the Land of John Millerís thence with his line North Twenty West two Hundred and ninety four poles to a Walnut? Hackberry and Buckeye, another Corner to said Millerís, then with another of his Lines south twenty west two Hundred & nineteen poles to two Red Oaks another Corner of said Millerís & in the line of Hicks, thence South twenty East two Hundred & ninety four Poles to the Beginning To have & to hold the aforesaid Tract or Parcel of Land with all ? pertinences to the aforesaid David Crews his Heirs and Assigns forever & the said William Hoy & Sarah his wife for theirselves their heirs, Executors & Administrators, do warrant and do forever defend the aforesaid David Crews his Heirs and assigns forever against all & every person or Persons whatsoever. In Testimony whereof we have hereunto set out hands & affixed our Seals the day and year above written.
