There are two Kelly cemeteries located near each other. Both are on Spencer Ridge Road. If you get an internet map, put in "Spencer Ridge Road, Beatyville, Ky." Because it is located in Lee County rather than Estill. I can tell you how to get there from Irvine in Estill Co. The nearest Estill County Road is Ross Creek Road. If you put in "Ross Creek Road, Irvine, Ky" that will get you close to the Estill/Lee border and the beginning of Spencer Ridge Road.
So, here are the directions from Irvine. Begin at the intersection of Hwy 52 and Hwy 89. There is a Shell station located here, near the end of the old Ky. River bridge. Follow Hwy 89 south about one mile to Hwy 851 which bears to the left. You will follow Hwy 851 all the way to Spencer Ridge which is about 14 miles from Irvine. There are two turns to watch out for. About two miles on Hwy 851, it turns to the right which is called Barnes Mountain Road. You will soon find out why it is called that, because you will go up a steep hill. On top of the hill, you will wind around many curves and go about five miles to where 851 turns to the left (Eli Sparks Road goes to the right). Continue on 851 which soon begins to go down hill. At the bottom of the hill you will see a road that turns to the right. This is Ross Creek Road. Continue past Ross Creek Road. In a short distance, you will see the Ky River on the left. This area is called Evelyn. At this point, you will have gone a total of about 12 miles from Irvine. Continue following the main road, Hwy 851, which will become a small country road (it used to be gravel). About a mile from Evelyn, the main road will turn to the right and go up the hill, now called Spencer Ridge Road. The road that continues to the left leads to one of the Ky river locks which is no longer in use; but you can still visit the site which is not far. When you start up the hill on Spencer Ridge, you will go about a mile and there will be the first Kelly Cemetery on the right, next to the road. The other Kelly Cemetery is on the road that turns next to the first cemetery. The road ends at the cemetery which is about one-fourth of a mile from the main road. I just talked to a McKinney who knew of a Mattie Calmes buried out there (maybe the same as your Minerva?). The Calmes, Kelly, Lynch, Mckinney families, etc. have been in that area many years. Hope this helps.
