Anna McCoy married Mason W. Cope March 28, 1823 in Estill Co. According to the marriage record Anna was 15 and Mason was 19. The marriage record was signed by Major Mason W. Cope and James D. Cope. John H. Barnes was the clerk.
I am searching for Anna's parents. Since she was only age 15 when she married surely she had to have her parents permission.
Estill Co. Marriage Permissive Notes 1809-1892 by Edward Puckett or perhaps the Estill Co. Order Books 1809-1938 should have the answer.
Does anyone on this board have access to either one of these sources? Any help most gratefully appreciated.
