Am looking for information on Sylvanus Johnson, born about 1779 in Virginia, married Margaret "Peggy" Madison in Botetourt Co., VA, 1805. In 1850 they lived in Edmonson County, next door to Patrick H. Madison, born about 1793 in Virginia. In 2002, message #21818 on Genforum, Faith Bishoff notes that Sylvanus Johnson was on the 1840 City of Brownsville, Edmonson Co., KY, census. Other information posted on Ancestry names John Madison Johnson, Robert Gregory Johnson, Andrew Jackson Johnson, Patrick Henry Johnson, and three daughters, Mary Ann, Susannah Henry and Agatha Madison Johnson as Sylvanus and Peggy's children.
In 1813 Benjamin Johnson, deceased, of Brunswick Co., Virginia, named a "Sylvanus Johnson" as one of several sons & heirs of his estate. Trying to prove a connection between Sylvanus Johnson of Edmonson to the Brunswick County, VA family.
