McHenry Rhoads was the Superintendent of Public Education for the State of Kentucky. His visit was probably the occasion for the photograph.

The ten teachers can all be found in the 1900 census of Daviess County.              My notes may be helpful to someone...

Vi Jones, b. Ky Oct 1854
Alice Hite, b. Ky Aug 1875, dau of James F. & Sarah Hite
Maliza Nall (misindexed as Walle in 1900 census) b. Ky Aug 1844, widow of Eugene Nall or Noll.
LuElla Worthington, b. Ky Apr 1875, dau of John W. & Lucy Worthington

I will attempt to scan the picture (it is awkwardly large). If I'm successful, I'll add a follow-up message, and you can email me then if you have a relative in the picture.
