today i went to the library to work on the cox family. i found james m. cox's obit in the owensboro messenger. it was dated feb. 15,1891. it was a very small article and didn't say much.
it did say that he lived near birk city, was 74, died of heart failure and was to be buried in cox cemetery. where that is is a mystery.the librarian had never heard of it. we looked in the daviess county cemeteries book, vol. 1 & 2 and there are several unnamed cemeteries in it. the sad part is that none listed any cox names in the unknown cemeteries.
i did find that james m. cox owned land between old livermore road and carter road.at least that is what the maps of the area then stated. will have to do some more checking on that.
talk to you later.
