In the History of Daviess County there is a notation of a T. Burgess shot D. Murphy, the latter dying four days later. This was in 1854.
My ggg grandfather was a Daniel Murphy who lived in Daviess CO, and died in 1854. It has been noted that his will was written in haste on his death bed. After checking the 1850 census there is a Timothy T. Burgess, 55, born in VA, who was an innkeeper living with his wife Sarah and daughter Elizabeth.
Can anybody claim him? Does anybody have this story in their family?
No hard feelings!
