Thanks Cousin for this reply and the one to my Benedict Joseph Payne query. Your information includes some new data for me and I have some additional information and a correction for you. I'll send these directly to you via e-mail.

My main family history activity is the Hartlage family here in Louisville but I've included at least 4000 of my mother's Knottsville people in my database these last 14 years. There sure are a lot of people related to my Mattingly and Payne ancestors. I try to document all the people with sources and am glad to share my research.
