Lewis Franklin Benge was born in 1831, moved to IN before 1864, married Elemeter Greene 5-1-1864 and served in the civil war (21st Indiana Infantry). I believe he was born in Clay county, KY to Lewis Franklin Benge who was born in 1805. However, other sources I've found don't list my Lewis Franklin as being the son of Frank Benge and grandson of David Benge. I've been stuck for 2 years on Lewis Franklin Benge and would really appreciate any help I could get finding out who his parents really are. I also don't know where and when he died. His last child was born 1877 and his wife lists herself as a widow on the 1880 IN census. I can't find his death listed in IN, just wondering if he died in KY? Thanks.
