David, Thanks for the followup. I have not had any luck finding info about the main house at Canewood, though I did find some pictures of outbuildings that survived into the 1930s. I spent an interesting afternoon a dozen years ago along Fox Creek trying to find the Hackley Cemeteries cited by my cousin Mary Eaton. Unfortunately time and neglect had hidden most traces, and a large bull discouraged lingering to explore further.
