John M. Pope, Rebecca Looters & Fam.

One branch of my family was in Montgomery Co., KY in 1840 and 1850 census, then disappears leaving no trace. I am trying to find them c. 1860 in nearby counties in Kentucky and Tennessee, including Christian Co.

Family is John M. Pope, b. NC abt. 1802; wife Rebecca Looters Pope, b. TN abt. 1807 (they married in 1827) plus children John T. (abt. 1838), James S. (abt. 1839) son Green J. (abt. 1845) and dtr Margaret R. (abt. 1849) all born TN.

John M. Pope was a "bridge agent;" I'm not certain just what the job entailed. Beforing marrying Rebecca, he lived in the FL panhandle (Jackson or perhaps Gadsden Co.) from abt. 1820-27.
