Don't have anything on Nathaniel/Stephan Wheeler but from what I traced my line comes through the Jacobs. My grandmother Violetta Johnson was the daughter of Allen Johnson and Artelir Jane Jacobs Barlow which made her the granddaughter of Alpha Jacobs and Jeany T. Faddis. The line I'm trying to locate is Cole and I'm having a terrible time finding anything definite. On the Mormon site there is information that links my grandfather Cole as the son of John J. Cole and Melissa Caroline Wheeler but on every census I've been able to locate I never see my grandfather listed as one of the children. Then on another site there's information that links has his mother as Melissa Caroline Jacobs.
Sorry I can't be of more help because I think we're more than likely related in some way.
