Wayne, Thanks for your reply. Who are the Witts you have for Casey Co. KY? I am researching George White, d. 17 Feb 1824, Casey Co. KY. James White in 1820 may be related to him. I know Randolph White was not of this line. He was a prisoner from ENG sent to fight in Rev. War. Randolph d. in Howard Co. MO. I ordered his Rev. War papers. I thought my George to be s/o Joseph White Jr. and Sarah Headley. I think there is some confusion over whether he was m. to one Sarah Hutchinson in 1757-1759 and to Sarah Headley. Joseph Jr. d. in Anson Co. NC in 1807. My George shows Widow Jane. He bound his male sons, George Washington, Andrew, Nathan, John, William, Ely, Eson, and James to learn trade or business. George states in his will "MY 8 CHILDREN" to get 1/4 of estate. He then names George W., Andrew, Patsy, John, Eson, Ely, Nathan, and William. He then says he wants his children, James, Catherine, Nancy, Isabel, Esther, Polly, Sally to have $1.00 each. I have only found George Washington White (my gr-gr-grandfather) and his two sbilings, William and Eson in Casey Co. KY. 1820 census shows George with no wife--and 13 children. Will shows 15 children. George would be at least 55 in 1820 census. One male child shows b. 1794-1800 in 1820. All other children b. 1800-1820, except for 3 named in will. So, 3 children would possibly be Widow Jane's from previous marriage--or children born aft. 1820 and bef. death of George in 1824. Sorry for this lenghty history. I am so frustrated over these Whites. I have ordered so many documents--and get little info. I believe my George was first m. to Eunice Dungan (s) in 1795 in Washington Co. VA. I believe Eunice to have died shortly after birth of a child in 1819 and bef. 1820 census. One John Dungan lived in Mercer Co. KY and several in Pulaski Co. KY. I have tracked several Dungans to Crawford Co. IL where my George Washington White m. in 1851. They seem to have come there about the same time. I found indenture papers for George Washington White at Harrodsburg-Mercer Co. Historical Research Library. I sent for other indenture papers and was told they did not relate to Casey Co. KY. This is the same place I had received his will and the ndenture paper for G.W. From the handwriting, I think this was a new lady and she did not do a search. Everytime I search, I wind up into this surname variation. I just can't get from one point to the next because of it. Thanks for any advice. Have you ever heard of a GORING WHITE? He m. one Lettice Owens in 1765, Fauquier Co. VA. Family trees show connection to Rains and Owens of Mercer Co. KY with Lettice. And, George Washington White was indentured to Elijah Webster--and Elijah m. Jane Rains, d/o James and Rancy Owens Rains. I am now wondering if my George was a s/o GORING WHITE!! I can find no other info on GORING other than his marriage. Shari Notify Administrator about this message?
