I am in desperate need of some help here John Mauk B:1 feb 1914 in Gimlet Ky,Elliot ,,D: 9 june 1974 Carter Co Ky..John was the S/O Fred M. Mauk JR and Alice Cox,in Elliott Co Ky,, The Index's list him as John O. Mauk but I alway's thought that it was John C.Mauk,I can't say for sure,,
My interest in this is that John was close kin to my father and my aunts and uncles "first cousin's",and when
John Mauk came back from WW 2 he had sergent stripes on his arm and medals on his chest,but as of this date he is lying in an un-marked grave out in elliott co ky ,,
I have started a one man campaign to get John Mauk a Veteran Admin grave Marker of some kind placed on his grave,and finding his Obit is a start of many document's to begin cutting red tape and hurdles,
I am hoping that there is a carter county researcher that know's the in's and out's of Carter County Ky, would know about Obit's and the like for Carter Co
