IN births recorded in KY??

I'm looking for information on George M. COLLINS and his brother IRA COLLINS. I know George was born Jan 10, 1838 in Vevay, IN. Ira was born in Jan of 1841, and the census said KY.

I believe sometimes births in southern IN get recorded in KY - correct? How can I find records of their births?

ANY help is appreciated.
