Regarding S F Hastings. I found her listed on Series T623, Roll 513, Page 59B of the Carlisle County, Milburn, Ky 1900 Federal Census. She is listed as age 43, Female, White, Born in KY. She was Head of Household, I couldn't make out the information in the occupation section. She was born Oct. 1857, had 9 children, of which 5 were still living in 1900. Her Father was born in KY, her mother in TN.
Her children were : possibly Elsey (it was very difficult to read this name) born Jan 1875, 25 at the time of the census and a school teacher. All the children were single.
Next daughter was Amba born Feb. 1882, age 18, no occupation listed. Next was a son, Joseph born July 1888, age 13. Next came Raymon born April 1890, 10 years of age. Ruth (listed as a son but one of my relatives that was female was listed as male on another census) born Oct 1893, age 7, and lastly, daughter Berna born Sept 1895, age 4. All the children except Joseph were born in Ky., he in TN. The first two children's father was born in KY, the next 3 father's were born in TN. The mother of all was born in KY.
I hope this helps you in your research.
Mary Kendall
