Hi Carole,
That was an interesting lookup that took us pretty far back into history. There used to be two towns that sat next/east of Bellevue, that being Brooklyn and Jamestown. Brooklyn was from O'Fallon Ave to McKinney Ave. Jamestown was from McKinney Ave to Clark St. There was a Gilmore Ave as the southernmost street east off O'Fallon Ave, that ran for 2 blocks across Walnut St and Vine St. Then it became Gardner St for 2 blocks across Terrace St and McKinney Ave. Then it became Winston Ave through Jamestown. Then when the 2 towns joined together it all became known as 8th St. and McKinney Ave became Tibatts Ave. So the intersection you are seeking is now known as 8th St and Tibbatts Ave. We found this on our 1883 Atlas maps.
Good luck with your further research,
Martha & Jerry
