Mill, Newport, Campbell Co., KY - 1914

When my uncle Harry Timberlake was born in Newport, KY in 1914, he was the 8th and last child born of John and Millie Timberlake, They were living at 1012 Ann St., Newport, KY. There was a little article
in the newspaper (probably written for the workers of the Rolling Mill where John worked.) "That Big Bouncing Boy. Born to Mr. & Mrs. John Timberlake, a bouncing big boy weighing 14 pounds. To say John is
jubilant is putting it mildly, and says when he (the baby) grows enough he will defend dad in the Hoop-De-Doo fraternal league. Col. John passed his cigars to the boys at the mill and here is luck to the New
Hoop-Dee-Doo arrival." (This Faternal League seemed to be union members
that worked at the Mill, they called each other Kentucky Colonels.)There is a photo of John in a group, probably of these buddies.

Has anyone heard of this group or the mill
they might have worked at. The family did
not stay in the area for too long.
Thanks, Lori London,
