Can anyone out there help me find out about my gg-grandfather's family in Newport?

My gr-gr-grandfather, Joseph S. Todd was from Newport, Ky. We know very little of him except that he was born Feb. 4, 1817, married Catherine Pearce Weller of Vicksburg, MS on Jan. 19, 1847 and he shortly thereafter died on May 22,1850 in Vicksburg, Ms. Joseph was, according to family tradition, a wealthy barge line owner, who operated a successful barge line from Cincinnati, Ohio to Vicksburg. He and Catherine had two children - a son Joseph Moss Todd who was born Dec. 5, 1847 and died May 2, 1850 and a daughter, Caroline (Carrie)Todd born Dec. 29, 1849 who was my great-grandmother. I inherited a daguerreotype of Joseph --- he is quite handsome and a distinguished looking young man.

I also found a handwritten entry in an old Weller family tree that showed that Joseph S. Todd's parents were Joseph Todd, Sr. and his wife Elizabeth Mould. In the Campbell Co. Ky 1810 Census, a Joseph "Tod" is shown as being married to an Elizabeth "Mole" on 9-27-1804. Could this be my Joseph's line? Anybody out there with any help on this? Thanks in advance!!
