St. Paul Newport and "old folks home"

I am researching Koehler family in Campbell Co. Philipp Koehler lived on John's Hill Rd. 1850-1890's. His obit says he died in the "old folks home" Where/what is that? Are there any records from there? His wife, Anna Carolina Schweitzer death recorded in St. Paul Evan/Prot church Newport. Does this church still exist? Where are these folks buried? Are there more records from this church? Why would he be at the St. John's licking pike church and she be in town of Newport? Thanks for any info!
