Although I cannot help with your
specific Johnston family, I wanted
to encourage you to check the
Metroarchives website for Davidson
Co. Tennessee. Nashville is located
in Davidson County. Several
of my own Ancestors after leaving
North Carolina, lived in Middle Tn
and Married there, prior to moving
to Caldwell Co.,Ky. People from
nearby Tn. Counties frequently Married
in Nashville, Tn., Davidson County.
There were Johnston Marriages with
families associated (so far not
related) to my Guess and Stewart families who ended up in Caldwell County.
The Nashville Metro Archives site
has a wonderful free search engine.
The site includes many Marriage records going back to the late 1700s and also
names the Bondsman.
