I have recently looked at these Wood families on the Caldwell Co. census for 1810. I find in Eddyville Twp. there are the following Wood names: Anna Wood, Robert Wood, Robert Wood and James Wood.

I am reserching brothers, James Wood and Robert Wood. James was born in 1785 and Robert in 1791, both in KY. One of the Robert Wood men in Caldwell was between the ages of 16-25 and was the only member of the household. My direct ancestor Robert Wood would have been 19 in 1810 so I am interested in finding more information regarding this Robert and the other Caldwell Co. Wood families to help determine if they may be connected to my Wood line.

Have you been able to identify any of the Caldwell Co. Wood families?

I also notice that you are researching a Wood/Finley family connection. I have a Wood/Finley connection as well. My Finley family was in KY. and moved into Missouri, specifically New Madrid and Scott Co. MO. My direct ancestors was Richard Finley and Penelope Conn. Their son Charles Finley married Catherine Schrader. Two of Charles & Catherine's daughters married the Wood brothers I mentioned previously. Mary Finley married James Wood in 1812 and Penelope Finley married Robert Wood ca. 1816.

I would appreciate any help you may be willing to give me regarding these Caldwell Co. Wood families.

Thank you,
Ann Schultz
