William and Alexander Stevenson to Robert Patterson

The two following deeds appear to be from William Stevenson Sr. (wife Martha Dickey) and his father, Alexander Stevenson Jr. (wife Elizabeth Gilmore) of Maury Co., TN to Robert Patterson.

This Indenture made this 20th Day of January one thousand Eight hundred and Eighteen by William Stevenson Senior of the State of Kentucky and County of Caldwell of the one part and Robt Patterson of the State and County aforesaid of the other witnesseth that for and in consideration of Eighty Dollars to me in hand paid the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge have bargained and Sold an by these presents Do grant and make over to the Said Robert Patterson his heirs or assigns a certain a certain tract or parcel of land Containing forty two acres and three fourths lying and being in the County of Caldwell on the waters of Donaldsons fork of tradewater, and bounded as follows to wit, beginning at a hickory and Dead black oak on the the old highland Saltwork road a corner of Said Stevensonís Survey, and thence running north fifty two East with his own line 120 poles to a Double Sweet gum on a branch thence north 85 west 70 poles to a hickory and white oak Thence South 52 west 95 poles to a white oak in a line of a Survey of Hugh Stevensonís thence South 38 East 51 poles to the beginning to have and to hold the Said tract above mentioned all and Singular uses benefits and previledges with every part and parcel thereof with the appurtenances

To the Said Robert Patterson to his heirs or assigns to the proper use and behoof of him the Said Robt. Patterson and theSaid William Stevenson for himself and his heirs do warrant and forever Defend the above described land to the Said Robt. Patterson against all manner of persons laying any lawful Claim of Claims thereunto in witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and affixed my Seal this Day and year above written Signed Sealed and Delivered in the presence of Wm Stevenson, John Robison,               William Stevenson Senr. (seal)
Caldwell County Sct. I John H. Phelps clerk of the County Court of Said County do certify that the within Deed of conveyance from William Stevenson Senr. to Robert Patterson was on this day proven to be the act and Deed of Said Stevenson by the oaths of William Stevenson and John Robison two Subscribing witnesses thereto and the Same was requested to be recorded Ė In testimony that I have recorded the Same together with this Certificate I hereunto set my hand this 23rd Day of February 1818              John H. Phelps

This Indenture made this 20th Day of January in the year of our lord one thousand Eight hundred and Eighteen by Alexander Stevenson Junior of the State of Tennessee and County of Murray of the one part and Robt Patterson of the State of Kentucky and County of Caldwell of the other witnesseth that for and in consideration of two hundred Dollars to me in hand paid the Receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge have bargained and Sold and by these presents Do grant and make over to the said Robert Patterson his heirs or assigns a certain tract or parcel of land Containing Sixty acres lying and being in the County of Caldwell on the Water of Donaldsons fork of tradewater and bounded as follows to wit beginning at a hickory Corner thence north 45 west 81 poles to a double sweetgum, thence 56 west 148 poles to a hickory and Dead black oak thence South 38 East 70 poles to two post oaks thence 56 East 140 poles 10 feet to the beginning to have and to hold the Said tract above mentioned all and singular uses benefits and and previledges with every part and parcel thereof with the appurtenances to the said Robert Patterson to his heirs or assigns to the proper use and behoof of the said Robert Patterson and the said Alexander Stevenson for himself and his heirs do warrant and forever defend the above Described land to the said Robert Patterson against all manner of person or persons lawing any lawful Claim or Claims thereunto in witness whereof I have hereunto
