Relationship of Hugh Stevenson of Logan Co., KY to heirs of Alexander Stevenson (widow Elizabeth Gilmore Stevenson) is unclear. Alexander did have a son named Hugh, but may have also had a brother or other relative named Hugh.

This Indenture made & entered into this 21st day of September in the year of our lord 1818 Witnesseth that I Hugh Stevenson of the County of Logan & State of Kentucky have this day bargained and sold and by these presents convey to James, Calvin, Milton & Miles Stevenson heirs of Alexander Stevenson decd for the Sum of Six hundred dollars a Certain tract of land Situate in Caldwell County (Ky) on the waters of Donaldsons fork of tradewater Containing three hundred acres by Survey. bounded as follows towit viz Beginning at a black tree near to a graveyard Running thence South fifty five west one hundred and Seventy nine poles to a white oak, thence North thirty five west two hundred and Sixty nine poles to a hickory thence north fifty five east one hundred and Seventy nine poles to a white oak thence South thirty five East two hundred and Sixty nine poles to the beginning Which land I do by these presents I do bind myself any heirs &c to Warrant and forever defend from me my heirs &c and from all and every other person or persons whatsoever with all its appurtenances and previledges to the only use and benefit of the said James, Calvin, Milton and Miles Stevenson heirs to the estate of the said Alexr Stevenson Decd forever. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and affixed my Seal the day and date above written

Caldwell County Act As Clerk of the County Court of Said County do certify that the within deed of Conveyance from Hugh Stevenson Jr to James, Calvin, Milton and Miles Stevenson heirs of Alexander Stevenson decd was on this day proven to be the act and Deed of Said Hugh Stevenson Jr by the oaths of Wm Stevenson & Wm Dickey two Subscribing witnesses thereto and requested to be recorded In Testimony that I have recorded the same together with this certificate I hereunto set my hand this 23d day of November 1818                     John H. Phelps
