This Indenture made this twenty eight day of February one thousand eight hundred and sixteen by Alexander Stevenson of the State of Tennessee and County of Maury of the one part and William Stevenson Snr of the other part witnesseth that for an in consideration of fifty dollars to me in hand paid the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge have bargained sold by these presents do grand and make over to the sd William Stevenson his heirs or assigns a certain tract or parcel of land containing twenty four acres and a half lying and being in the County of Caldwell on the waters of Donaldsons fork of Tradewater and bounded on the South by Samuel Ashurt Beginning on a white oak My own corner thence South 30 East one hundred and ninety six poles to a white oak thence N 49 west two hundred poles to a double sweet gum thence with sd line North fifty two east forty poles to the Beginning to have and to hold the sd tract above mentioned all and singular rises benefits and privileges with every part and parcel thereof with the appertenances to the sd William Stevenson to his heirs or assigns to the proper use and behoof of him the said William Stevenson and the said Alexander Stevenson for himself and his heirs do warrant and forever defend the above described land to the said William Stevenson against all manner of persons laying any lawfull claims or claims thereunto, in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal the day and year above written signd seald and delivered in presence of

Caldwell County Sct. As clerk of the County Court of said County I certify that the within deed of conveyance from Alexander Stevenson to William Stevenson was on this day proven by the oaths of Saml M Asher and Wm Stevenson two subscribing witnesses thereto to be the act and deed of the said Alexr Stevenson and requested to be recorded In Testimony that I have recorded the same together with this certificate I hereunto set my hand this 26th day of Octr 1816
