The Okolona [Jefferson Co. KY] Women's Club has available "The History of the Okolona Area" originally published by them in 1956 in a reprint with a newly added full index. All names and places are indexed. There are many photographs and lots of information on early settlers to the area, including those from Bullitt, Spencer, Nelson and other nearby counties. Okolona area covers the south-central portion of Jefferson County bordering Bullitt County. The book has been out of print for many years. The club is raising funds through the sale of this reprint to have published a new history of the area [from the 1950s to the present]. The book sells for $16.00 plus $2 shipping.
