Hi--
I'm searching for the mother of my great-grandfather Jackson Dock Patton, born 7 Oct. 1857 in Breathitt County, son of Granville Patton, who was born in Floyd Co. in 1805. JD Patton was a state legislator from Carter County and one of the founders of the Masonic Lodge in Soldier, Ky. JD Patton had brothers Andrew,Littleton, William Ruben, and sisters Nancy Jane and Armina -- all born in Breathitt Co.between 1848 and 1857. There are records of Granville marrying Patty Jones in Floyd Co. Census records shows Mary and Polly living in his household after that. Plus a nephew's autobiography says Granville married Mattie Sutton, a Tennessee widow. Birth certificate of Granville's brother Andrew (born 1844) shows his mother is Mary Morris.
Can anyone shed light on Granville's wife and JD's mother?
