Hi my name is Christopher B Haley and I have done consuderable research into the line of Abner Haley of Bracken County, youngest son of John Haley of Fauquier County, Virginia. The correct name is Healey, not Haley, as both Abner and his father signed it that way. Also the death dates of Abner and Molly Jett Haley are wrong. Abner died in 1846, not 1844 (according to a declaration by son Daniel Haleyin the order books) and Molly in 1853, not 1860 (according to a probate record in the Will Book). I have coompleted doing the core reseach, now I am interested in finding out more deatails. The census makes it clear Abner Had seven sons and seven daughters, the info I know from the top of my head:

1. Samuel Haley born 1803 in Virginia. Never married. Died in 1857. Buried next to brother Thomas in Robertson County.
2. Porter Haley born 1804 in Virginia. Married to Maria Glasscock and again later died in 1886. Buried on farm along Route 19 in Petra.
3. Daniel Haley born 1807 in Kentucky. Died in 1887-1889. Buried in farm graveyard way back off the road south oF Milford, KY. IN 1836 involved in court case with brother Thomas "Keeping Batchelor's Hall) (an old English term used most famously by folk rock band Steeleye Span in 1975)
4. Sally (sarah Haley)born 1810. Married first husband James Adams in Bracken County in 1828. Married second husband james Whalin in Harrison County in 1834 (as Sarah Adams). Died in 1877 in Harrison County from heart trouble at age 67.
5. Thomas (Hamilton) Haley born in 1814. First appears on Harrison County tax list in 1837. Married Martha Beckett in 1838/ 1 child list listed in 1840 census in Harrison County, probably died later, Son Samuel born in 1841. Divorced in 1848. Tried to buy some hamd in Missori and abandoned first wife there. Martha Beckett living with mother in Harrison County in 1850 census, Thomas and Samiel in Bracken County. Illegitimate son William arthur born in 1851 mother Sarah Miller. Marries America Neaves in 1854. Children are as follows:
1. Thomas Porter Haley 1856-1936 died in Pendleton County in 1936.
2. Mary Haley 1858-1878. Died of consumption.
3. Abner Haley 1862-1924
4. Napoleon Bonaparte Haley 1867-139
5. William Marshall Haley 1869-?
Possibly another son who died as an infant. America Neaves Haley died circa 1872.
Married third wife Sarah Margaret Haley in 1874. Mother was first divorced wife Martha Beckett, father unknown, later married Charles Mckibben, had three more children with him after after five or six by Thomas. Thomas died in 1883, the father of twelve children, according to obituary from Mount olivet newspaper. According to the late Rosemary Lawson, a painting of Thomas once existed, but was later destroyed. Seriously looking for fanily papers, correspodence, bible recirds, or photos of any Nineteenth Century Haleys, especially Thomas or any of his brothers. I know some must exist somewhere, due to the enormity of family. Plan to write book about Haleys. I am descended from Thomas Porter Haley's oldest son Joe Tom.
Mre of Abner's kids
6. William Haley 1815-1868
7. Minerva Haley.1814-? Married Milton Tucker. Could be twin sister of either Thomas or William.
8. Anderson Haley 1817-1879. Died falling down a steps.
9. Elizabeth Jacobs 1821-?. Still alive in 1900 census aged 79. survived all three children. Next door neighbor of Samuel Haley, Thomas's oldest son.
10. John Haley 1822-?
11. Emily Haley 1828-1912. Married Square jett, There are three more daughters, but off the top of my head I can't remember their names. I would really like to get in touch with others who are either researching this family, or might have records or photos. Also, I am looking for any surviving photos of Thomas Jett.
