JOHN FERREE-Resident of Augusta, Bracken County KY (1792-1809)

b.17 May 1761 Paradise, Lancaster Co, PA,
son of Philip Ferree and Sarah Evans, great grandson of Daniel Ferree and Mary Warenbeur.
d.17 August 1839 Clermont County, OH
Buried on private cemetery on U.S. Route 50, in Stonelick Twp near Owensville in Clermont Co OH on land formerly the experiment farm at the far side of a pine grove along the fence row. Footstone of J.F. (Revolutionary Soldier).

Rebecca Marsh b. 1 Jan 1792 near Baltimore MD d. 23 June 1844 Clermont County OH; daughter to William Marsh (1739-1831)& Patience (Lemons) Leavens (1746-1840)

Shortly after the marriage he bought a farm near Augusta on which he lived until he moved to Clermont County. He was the father of 14 children. In 1809 John and his brother, Isaac went to Clermont County, OH from Bracken County, KY and settled near Boston (now Owensville) along what is now US 50.Source: History of Clermont County by Louis Everts, p. 523

PROFESSION: Methodist Circuit rider preacher in southwestern Ohio. "He attended seminary in Augusta, Bracken County before he and his family went to Ohio.
He was one of the pioneer Methodists of Clermont County.
The Methodist church of Boston was started in John's house and preaching was held there until a church was built at Boston in 1831.He died at an advanced age leaving to his posterity an untarnished reputation for honesty, piety, and industry. " Source Book: "Footprints of an Itinerate"
